Brian J. Brundin
Brian practices law from his home office.
As both a lawyer and certified public accountant (inactive), he has expertise in several
areas, with emphasis upon advising people and business regarding sophisticated
transactions and planning opportunities. In 1996-7 he was the first Distinguished
Executive in Residence, and Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting at UAA College of
Business and Public Policy, where he taught law, accounting, and taxation. In 1996 he
retired from 30 years with Hughes Thorsness Gantz Powell & Brundin LLC, where he
headed the Commercial Law Division and chaired the Corporate Law, Tax Law, Estate
Planning, and Banking Law sections. An Alaskan since 1951, he has been very involved in
statewide community and professional activities. He regularly lectures on Estate Planning,
Tax, and related matters, has published nationally on Alaska taxation, and serves as an
Expert Witness.
