Mr. Blackburn is originally from Nashville, Tennessee. He received a B.S.B.S (Finance) in 1986 from Auburn University and a MBA (Finance) in 1988 from the University of Mississippi. He earned his law degree in 1991 from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board of the Mississippi Law Journal during 1990 and 1991.

He continued his legal studies at the University of Miami, where he obtained an LL.M in Estate Planning in 1992. While residing in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Mr. Blackburn has practiced law primarily in the fields of Estate Planning, Probate, Commercial and Real Estate Transactions and Taxation.

Mr. Blackburn is also an adjunct Professor of Business Law at the University of Mississippi. He is admitted to practice law in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Jim is a member of the firm and practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, taxation, wills and estates. He handles corporate tax matters, disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, and tax and estate planning for individuals. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi, Jackson Tax Forum and the International Association of Financial Planners.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1971, where he served as a member of the editorial board of the Mississippi Law Journal. He was law clerk to the late Judge Orma R. Smith, U. S. District Court, Northern District of Mississippi, 1971-1972. He received a Masters of Law in taxation from New York University in 1973.

Jim has been active in the American Bar Association, where he is a member of the Taxation Section and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. He is the Mississippi author of the Sales & Use Tax Desk Book and State Taxation of Banks and Thrift Institutions publications of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar, where he holds membership in the Taxation Section and Estates and Trusts Section.

David is a member of the firm, and practices in the areas of estate and business planning, taxation, probate, corporate law and real estate. David received his Bachelor's degree in Professional Accountancy, Summa Cum Laude, from Mississippi State University and his J. D., Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he served as associate editor of the Mississippi Law Journal.

David received his LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami. David served as law clerk to the Honorable William H. Barbour, Jr., Chief Judge of the U. S. District Court, Southern District of Mississippi. David is currently serving as chairperson of the Estates and Trusts Section of the Mississippi Bar, and also is a member of the Taxation and Real Property Sections of the Mississippi Bar. David is past president of the Jackson Tax Forum.

He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi, the Mississippi Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, the Hinds County Bar Association, and the Jackson Young Lawyers. David serves on the Estate Planning Advisory Council to the Belhaven College Foundation. David is a frequent lecturer on estate planning, probate and taxation topics throughout Mississippi.

Jimmy is a member of the firm where his main emphasis of practice is in the area of estate planning and probate as well as the related areas of fiduciary administrations, corporations and real estate. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is currently serving as its Chair for the State of Mississippi.

Jimmy received his B.B.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of Mississippi and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He was Research Assistant to the Chief Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court.

He was an Estate Tax Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service for six years, where he received the High Quality and Special Achievement Awards. He has served as chairman of the Annual Estate Planning Seminar co-sponsored by the Mississippi College School of Law and the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi. He is a member of the Mississippi and Hinds County Bar Associations, the Christian Legal Society, the Jackson Tax Forum, the Jackson Estate Planning Forum and the Financial Planning Association, where he served on various boards and in various offices. Jimmy is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi.

He is also a member of the Probate and Property Section of the American Bar Association, Taxation Section and the Estates and Trusts Section of The Mississippi Bar, and he is past Chair of the Estates and Trusts Section. He is Chairman of the Mississippi Family Asset Protection Committee. He is an Accredited Estate Planner with the National Association of Estate Planning Councils. Jimmy has been included in the 1997-1999 editions of Best Lawyers of America.
